CAADP will be cosponsoring a statewide conference on the death penalty. The event features Thomas Zlaket, former Arizona Supreme Court Chief Justice, and members of the Arizona State Legislature. This conference is open to members of the public.
The conference will focus on research that the American Bar Association is conducting into Arizona's death penalty. Other speakers will include CAADP's own Kathy Norgard, author of Hard to Place, who will speak about what it's like having a son on death row, and Deborah Fleischaker and Sigmund Popko from the American Bar Association. The complete agenda appears below.
Sponsors for the event, in addition to CAADP, include the Arizona Death Penalty Forum, Arizona State University School of Justice and Social Inquiry, and Catholic Charities.
The conference will take place at the Arizona State University Campus, Memorial Union, Conference Room (second floor). Parking will be available in the visitor parking garage on the corner of Apache and College Streets in Tempe.
