Kicanas: Death penalty alternative 'makes every sense' for West

Bishop Jerry Kicanas of the Diocese of Tucson will make a rare plea to the Arizona Board of Executive Clemency July 14 on behalf of Thomas West, who is scheduled to be executed July 19 for the murder of Donald Bortle outside of Tucson in 1987. White Tie Ball, with a chance to support CAADP

Borderlands Theater in Tucson will be showing White Tie Ball, a play by Martin Zimmerman. The play was the winner of the Smith Prize and is showing from May 5 to 22.

CAADP will hold a protest vigil Monday, Oct. 25, from 5 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. on the Northeast corner of Campbell Avenue and Speedway Boulevard in Tucson.
